Al Pastore is a 15th century guesthouse on the estate of Villa Massei, which is famous for its gardens. Horticultural enthusiasts come from around the world to visit its gardens, which have been featured in Architectural Digest and a PBS television show. Excellent wine and olive oil are produced on the 60-acre estate.
The farmhouse is furnished to the highest level of comfort and amenities. It is decorated with extraordinary taste, with wood-beamed ceilings, softly-painted walls, lovely fabrics, and antique pieces nicely complementing one other.
The large living room has comfortable seating, a working fireplace, and antique furniture from Lucca’s neo-classical period. The kitchen is a cook’s dream, as all the appliances are top quality and of a professional level. There is ample countertop space and a table for six. The first floor rooms open onto the terrace, which provides outdoor sitting and dining areas. There are two independent bedroom suites on the second floor, each with its own bathroom, air conditioning, and satellite TV. One suite includes a small sitting room. The magnificent views from the bedrooms face the Apuan Alps in the distance.
Al Pastore has lovely outdoor areas. There are two outdoor dining areas, one in the front surrounded by gardens, and another under a pergola near the swimming pool. Guests can also take advantage of the estate’s organic vegetable garden and many acres of woodland trails. The swimming pool is shared with the owners.
The farmhouse is conveniently located fifteen minutes away from Lucca by car. There is a small village with stores within easy walking distance.
Al Pastore is equipped with a washing machine, clothes dryer, dishwasher, and microwave.
