Special Characteristics

Chiodo is a spectacular villa in a gorgeous setting. Perched in the hills between Lucca and Pisa, the villa is fresh from an exacting three-year restoration project that impressively blends contemporary design elements with classic Tuscan features. The owners paid attention to every detail and have furnished the home to provide every possible comfort and feature for their guests.

Furnishings are of a very high quality, with an emphasis on comfort and a modern feel. The living room has satellite television with a DVD player, and there is wireless Internet. The spacious stylish dining room seats twelve at a massive hewn wood table beneath graceful antique wood beams. A gourmet-worthy kitchen boasts professional-quality appliances and ample space for several cooks to work together, along with cookware and every necessary gadget. There is a counter-top wood-burning fireplace, as well.

There are five bedrooms, and all are spacious and tastefully furnished with comfortable beds. All bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. One bedroom and bathroom are placed on the main floor, while the remaining bedrooms and bathrooms are located upstairs and have lovely views of the beautiful countryside. There are two extra beds that are available in the sitting room next to the twin bedroom to increase the capacity to 12 guests. Maid service is included in the weekly rental price for 15 hours per week.

A large, sunny flagstone terrace opens off the kitchen, offering a peaceful spot to unwind, dine, and enjoy the beautiful landscape. A large swimming pool sits on a grassy ledge above the house in a very panoramic spot, with views of olive groves and the hills beyond. A covered pergola with comfortable outdoor furniture provides shade there.

Chiodo is a special property in a dramatic setting. It lies in an area that is notable for its 17th century villas which were once summer residences for wealthy Lucchese. The beautiful towns of Tuscany are within easy reach, but it will be hard to break away from enjoying this wonderful villa.
