Located in the heart of the Chianti region, this villa's dominating hilltop position provides panoramic views overlooking the surrounding countryside. The villa has origins in a medieval castle with a fortified tower, and the original castle foundations are still visible in the lower floor of the villa. Convertoie was carefully restored over the years and is very beautifully furnished. It features antique pieces throughout the house and handcrafted Vietri tiles in the bathrooms.

Convertoie develops on three floors. A paved terrace in front of the villa leads up a few steps into the villa's main entrance, with a wooden portal door opening into the first floor hallway. Nearby is a formal dining room with a fireplace. There is also a spacious room with a billiard table and a fireplace; this room has barrel vault ceiling and shows the original stones on which the castle was built. Another door opens into the fully equipped kitchen, with modern appliances. A door in the kitchen leads outside, near a covered, furnished panoramic terrace ideal for al fresco dining.

A pietraserena staircase leads from the hallway to the second floor landing. One door opens into a double bedroom with a canopy bed, complete with an ensuite bathroom. The second door leads from the landing into a spacious living room with an open-hearth fireplace. Doors open off the living room into a study with satellite TV and a twin bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. There is also a door onto a rear furnished terrace.

The remaining bedrooms are located on the third floor. There are two double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. There is also another living room with a fireplace and beautiful wood beam ceilings.

The gardens and the terraces are fully furnished and develop on two levels. The swimming pool is set into a terrace with a beautiful lawn, gazebo and abundant pool furniture on a level below that of the villa. All terraces are equipped with railings, but children must be watched.

The villa is just two miles from the shops and restaurants of Greve in Chianti. There is a regular bus service from Greve into Florence. The Ugolino golf course is less than half an hour away. Florence is 15 miles away, and Siena 28 miles.

The villa is equipped with DVD, stereo with CD player, barbecue, washing machine, dishwasher, baby cot, telephone, and central gas heating payable on consumption. Maid service is provided for three hours a day, three times a week at an extra charge. A cook is available on request.
