Lovely stone-built farmhouse in a beautiful position in the hills of Lucca near the village of Matraia, about a mile away. From the house there are breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside of olive groves and vineyards. Lucca can also be seen in the distance.
Giannello is located in a part of the Luccan countryside famous for its beautiful historic villas. In particular, it is very close to the Villa Reale, where Elisa Bonaparte, Napoleon’s sister, resided. The town of Lucca is about 9 miles away.
The farmhouse was restored in a tasteful rustic style, retaining the old wood beam ceilings and antique terracotta floors in most of the rooms. The dining room, kitchen with fireplace and large living room (built in the former wine cellars) are on the first floor. A second living room, two double bedrooms, a twin bedroom, and two bathrooms (one with a bathtub, the other with a shower) are on the second floor.
A particularly nice feature of Giannello is the large terrace in front of the house facing the views, which is ideal for eating in beautiful surroundings. The swimming pool (38x20 feet) is just below the terrace, and enjoys panoramic views as well.
Maid service is included in the price 7 hours per week. Cooking services and cooking lessons can be arranged upon request for an extra charge. The farmhouse has a telephone, Satellite TV, ADSL high-speed Internet connection, washing machine, microwave oven, stereo/CD player and a barbeque. |
