Il Colombaio rests on a hillside covered with ordered rows of grape vines in Italy's most famous wine region. It is in the middle of Chianti, which boasts plentiful charming villages, ancient castles, and quintessential Tuscan landscapes. Il Colombaio is just minutes from some of Tuscany's most famous towns, and thus is in the perfect location for seeing all the highlights of this beautiful region.

The stately farmhouse has been beautifully renovated to update it with modern conveniences while retaining its Old World charm. The atmosphere is warmed by dappled plaster walls and antique wood beam ceilings. Terracotta tiles grace the floors throughout the villa.

One of the highlights of the house is the large farmhouse kitchen which is bordered by brick archways. Everything is provided for creating meals from fresh market ingredients. There is even a wood-burning cooking fireplace. The sunny-colored dining room is inviting and has a beautiful contemporary-style table and chairs. On the same floor there is a powder room next to a laundry room with a shower. On the top floor, there are two living rooms offering ample space to relax and enjoy the camaraderie of friends and family. They are separated by brick archways, and one living room has a large fireplace, while the other offers satellite television.

There are five bedrooms spread throughout the house, offering a measure of privacy. There is a master double bedroom on the main floor with a fireplace and its own ensuite bathroom with a shower. Also on this floor are a single bedroom that shares a bathroom with a double bedroom, and another double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. Another double bedroom is found on the top floor, with a powder room nearby. The living rooms are on that upper floor, along with a second small kitchen, which makes it a separate suite.

Outside a vast flagstone terrace flanks the west side of the house, offering ample space for outdoor dining as well as fabulous views of the sunset and the vine-covered rolling hills. An old water well still stands there, adding character. The lovely landscaped garden is a peaceful oasis. A tantalizing swimming pool is tucked into a panoramic spot to take in the views below the house from the terrace, and is surrounded by lawn. This makes Il Colombaio a wonderful choice for families with children.

The main farmhouse sleeps 9 people. A guest house on the grounds has two extra bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom, that can be rented for an extra cost. This increases the capacity of the property to 11 or 13 people.

Maid service is provided for 9 hours per week.
