La Corte is an independent barn located in a hamlet near Sovicille, a small town just south of Siena offering shops and restaurants. Partially fenced-in to afford privacy, the property has a large open courtyard in front that provides access to the house.

From the private entrance, steps lead down onto a landing where a door on the left opens into a double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and shower. To the right of the landing are doors to a twin bedded room and to a second complete bathroom with a shower and washing machine. La Corte is very nicely furnished and offers cotto floors, wood beamed ceilings and whitewashed walls in the typical Tuscan tradition.

Down a few steps from the bedrooms is a very large area that serves as the living room, dining room and kitchen. On one side is the kitchen corner, separated from the living/dining room area by a counter. The fully equipped, modern kitchen includes a gas range, electric oven, dishwasher and refrigerator with freezer. The spacious open-plan living/dining room has a large fireplace, panoramic glass doors and large windows facing the garden. There is satellite TV, DVD, and a stereo with CD player in the living room. The panoramic glass doors in this room open onto a furnished terrace with plenty of shade that overlooks a private garden.

A short paved walk and a few steps lead from the terrace to a wooden deck where the small but delightful above ground swimming pool (10 x 20 feet) is located. There is pool furniture on the deck, and a barbecue available for guest use.

The property is heated with a central gas system. Gas and firewood are payable on consumption during heating season.

The location of La Corte is excellent for touring. Guests have easy access to the Chianti area, and the towns of Southern Tuscany such as Montalcino and Montepulciano.
