La Macchietta’s hilltop location between Lucca and the coast provides beautiful views over vineyards, olive groves, and chestnut woods. Its high ceilings and large windows bring in light and are just some of the features retained from its origins as the local “bottega,” or general store. La Macchietta provides a tranquil base ideally located for exploring the region.

The house’s recently completed renovation has added modern comforts while preserving the original terracotta floors and wood-beamed ceilings. The furnishings are particularly interesting, as the decorations reflect the owners’ international background and, in particular, their African connection.

La Macchietta develops on three floors. One of the living rooms, filled with books, is on the first floor. There is also a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom located on this floor. A sitting area, dining room, and large kitchen, complete with a pizza oven, are on a lower level. They open out onto the terrace, which provides outdoor seating facing the valley. The other three bedrooms are located on the second floor, along with three complete bathrooms.

The swimming pool (12x36 feet) is in a very panoramic position, overlooking the lush green valley and olive groves. There is comfortable lawn furniture by the pool.

Maid service is included in the price 2 hours a day, 3 days a week.
