Special Characteristics

La Mansarda is an attractive apartment on the top floor of historic Palazzo Benincasa in the town of Montepulciano. Located in one of the oldest and highest parts of the town, it overlooks the town’s terracotta rooftops and towers and the beautiful surrounding countryside, with Lake Trasimeno in the distance.

Palazzo Benincasa was once owned by a member of the Medici family, whose imposing stone face is above the original wooden entrance door. La Mansarda has been carefully restored to create an interesting combination of the modern and the traditional, with modern lighting and soft colors on the walls accenting the high wood-beamed ceilings. Arched windows in the open sitting areas provide fabulous views of the Tuscan and Umbrian countryside.

The living room has a working fireplace, comfortable chairs and a couch, and a satellite TV. The dining area has a large table that seats eight people. The kitchen, with its distinctive black and white design, has a dishwasher and washing machine. The double bedroom has lovely blue walls and a stunning view over the town to the church of San Biagio. The nearby bathroom has a shower.

The apartment is equipped with a telephone and independent heating, both charged based on consumption.

La Mansarda is in a quiet area of Montepulciano, near the restaurants, bars, and the main square with its lovely cathedral. The town is well located for taking day trips to the nearby hill towns of Pienza and Montalcino, among others.
