L’Uccelliera is located amid vineyards and lemon trees on a hilltop above the village of Monterosso al Mare, one of the five towns of the Cinque Terre. The house dates to the late 19th century, when it was built to serve as a hunting lodge. It is part of a large estate with vineyards, lemon trees, and a vegetable garden. There are spectacular views of the estate, the sea, and the Ligurian coastline. The garden is extensive and offers several opportunities for dining and relaxing. The interior design and furniture are in excellent taste, and the villa is cozy and very comfortable. The artwork and antique pieces, and built-in furniture, are very lovely.

A double bedroom and twin bedroom, each with two windows overlooking the garden, are located on the first floor. Two bathrooms with showers are also on this floor. The spacious living/dining room and kitchen are located on the second floor. A living room with a fireplace, two terraces, a bathroom with a shower, and a bedroom with a French bed and a single bed are on the third floor. There are inside staircases and an outside one.

The villa is just a ten minute walk from Monterosso, down a footpath that goes past a Capuchin convent. Another short path leads from the villa to the sea. Monterosso is the most renowned of the five Cinque Terre towns and is easily accessible by car or train. There are hiking trails along the hillsides from Monterosso to Vernazza and Levanto.

Maid service is included one day a week for three hours. The villa is equipped with all modern conveniences.
