Portovenere 2 is located just on the edge of the small 12th century village of Portovenere on the Ligurian coast. The apartment is well located in a residential area close to the village stores, and the beach is a five-minute walk away. The apartment overlooks a Bay known as the Gulf of the Poets because it inspired many poems of Shelley and Byron.
The living room/dining area is a lovely ochre color and tastefully decorated with lovely artwork and marble tile floors. There are several comfortable couches and chairs in this room, and a dining table for eight people. Two doors open onto a large terrace facing the beautiful Gulf of La Spezia and the small offshore island of Palmaria. Near this room is a well-equipped, new kitchen with a small table for two.
The master bedroom, with a queen size bed, faces the water view and rooftops of the village. There is a door to the terrace from this bedroom. The twin bedroom, which can be converted to a double bedroom, has a small terrace looking out over olive trees and a garden. The bathroom is located between the kitchen and the twin bedroom.
The apartment is well located for water sports and hiking; guests can hike to the Cinque Terre from here. There is also easy access to other parts of Italy as La Spezia, about 6 miles away, is a major transportation hub. The island of Palmaria across the bay has a well-known restaurant and beaches. There is ferry service to Palmaria and the Cinque Terre.
There is another apartment for people in the building next to Portovenere 2; for groups up to 8 people, the two apartments could be rented together at a discounted price. Portovenere 2 is on the fifth floor and there is no elevator. The apartment is equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, hair dryer, TV and independent heating.
