This property was converted from a traditional stone barn into a comfortable house with much Tuscan character. Surrounded by its own private grounds and located on a hillside, the house offers a beautiful view over the Chianti countryside.

The house develops on many levels following the contours of the hill. It combines comfortable furnishings with antique pieces. Typical Tuscan architecture has been maintained, with wood beam ceilings, cotto floors and whitewashed walls.

The main entrance is through a spacious hall at the center of the house. The living/dining room, with a fireplace, is down two steps through a beautiful stone and brick arch. On the left side of this room is the kitchen, complete with gas range, electric oven and fridge with freezer. The room is luminous as panoramic glass doors open onto the lower terrace. Equipped with a table, barbecue and large sun umbrella, this terrace is ideal for al fresco dining and enjoying the surrounding countryside. A sidewalk connects this terrace to a spacious upper terrace.

A staircase leads from the entrance hall up to the sitting room and bedrooms on the second floor. The spacious double bedroom on one side of the stairs has large panoramic windows. The other double bedroom has panoramic glass doors that open onto the upper terrace. The bed in this room can be divided into twin beds on request. The bathroom with a shower is on the first floor. There is an extra folding bed available in the house that can be placed in one of the bedrooms to increase capacity to 5 people.

There is a public pool and tennis court in Castellina in Chianti, about 5 miles away. Siena is about 7 miles away.

Maid service is available on request. Central gas heating and firewood are available at an extra cost. A baby cot is available.
