Torreinpietra's name belies the stone tower it once was, before impressive renovations transformed it into a picturesque vacation house. It is located in a serene spot on a well-tended farm estate.
Despite the solid stone walls, Torreinpietra is bright and cheerful. Wood beams crisscross plaster ceilings and light-colored terracotta tiled floors lend a warm glow. The living space is arranged in an open plan. The sitting room has plush furniture and a satellite TV; a sofa bed can accommodate one person. A rustic farmhouse dining table seats six. The room's modern kitchen comes fully equipped for preparing meals from fresh ingredients available in the local markets, and has a gas cook top, oven, refrigerator with freezer, and dishwasher.
Two bedrooms occupy the second floor. Both are sunny and comfortably furnished and have warm parquet wood floors and wood-beamed ceilings. One is a double bedroom with wonderful views. The other is a twin or double bedroom. There is a bright bathroom with a shower between them. A second bathroom with a shower is located on the first floor, along with a utility room with a washing machine.
The owners produce olive oil and live on the estate; they are friendly and do not intrude on guests' privacy. Torreinpietra is private and peaceful, with its own gardens with mature trees and flowerbeds, outdoor dining area and barbecue grill. Guests are free to make use of the entire garden, and wander the farm property. Maid service is available on request, and there is a baby crib and central heating.
While the property is pastoral it is not isolated. Two villages are located just a couple of miles away, offering shops and dining. Stunning Siena, with its pretty piazza and alluring atmosphere, is just 4 miles away. There is bus service to Siena from bus stops close to Torreinpietra. The highway connecting Florence and Siena is also a short drive away. |
