This exquisite luxury country villa is located on three acres of property among rolling hills, and is surrounded by olive and fruit trees in the Fiesole area of Tuscany. Guests enjoy both the tranquil country setting in the heart of Tuscany and the possibility of a city experience because Florence is so close and easy to reach.
The villa was restored in 2003 with attention to custom detail in an international, eclectic style while maintaining the integrity of the Tuscan aesthetic. Interior decoration combines antiques with modern furniture. The lighting is particularly well done, and the well chosen Italian antiques give the rooms a sense of style. There are window screens throughout the house.
All bedrooms have modern comforts, with orthopedic mattresses and top quality Italian linens, and have air conditioning. The modern bathrooms combine marble, wood, and authentic ceramic tile and are fully-equipped with bathrobes, hair dryers and heated towel racks. The master bedroom on the first floor has a king-size bed and ensuite bathroom; it is spacious and has a sitting area facing the garden and the view. One double bedroom with queen size bed and ensuite bathroom is also on the first floor.
The living and dining area is on the second floor, surrounded by large windows on three sides that bring in light and highlight the views. The room has wood-beam ceilings and a grand working fireplace. There is comfortable seating and a locally-built inlaid wood dining table. The kitchen is fully equipped with top-level appliances and marble countertops. The book-lined library has a computer and comfortable couches for watching the satellite TV. The remaining double bedroom and the twin bedroom, which can be converted into a double, are on this floor. Both have windows to the view or the garden, and have individually controlled air conditioners. There are two bathrooms on this floor, one with a Jacuzzi bathtub.
The villa has three lovely terraces for dining and relaxing. A door from the kitchen leads to a marvelous covered, furnished pergola in the upper garden, surrounded by fruit and olive trees. The gardens are well-maintained, with many varieties of flowers and herbs. Another terrace is next to the infinity swimming pool, with a sitting area to take in the view and a covered dining area. The final terrace is at the entrance to the villa and has a sitting area to enjoy the panoramic views.
Day trips can be easily arranged as many Tuscan towns, such as Siena, Lucca, and Montepulciano, are within easy reach. The housekeeper speaks English and can assist in making tour or restaurant reservations, and she is also an excellent cook.
The owners are eager to make the guests' stay a unique experience. They can arrange for custom tours in Florence to unique venues, such as gardens and palaces that are not usually available for sightseeing. Villa Luminosa is a special property ideal for those seeking a high-end vacation close to Tuscany's most famous art city.
