Surrounded by olive groves and cypress trees, this 19th century villa enjoys breathtaking views of the skyline of Siena and is located just 3 miles outside the city. The Torre del Mangia, which rises from the Piazza del Campo where the famous Palio horse race is held, can also be seen from the property.

The villa was completely restored in 2002 with modern conveniences but the original structure was maintained so that guests may feel what it is like to live in a traditional, grand Italian country villa. Original architecture includes tile floors, frescoed ceiling and walls, and wooden cabinets. All rooms are spacious with large windows to bring in the light. The furniture includes family antiques, oriental rugs, Venetian chandeliers, and lovely silk textiles. All first floor rooms have high ceilings, and the main rooms have tall windows overlooking the garden.

All bedrooms are on the second and third floors, with large windows overlooking the gardens and Siena in the distance. Groups up to 10 can rent the first two floors, and the villa sleeps up to 14 people when all three floors are rented. The second floor contains three double bedrooms and two twin bedrooms. There are three bathrooms on this floor. The third floor has one twin bedroom, one double bedroom, and a bathroom.

The villa has extensive garden and lawn areas. The estate produces its own olive oil, which can be purchased on the premises. The formal garden is to the west of the main house. There is an area used as a vegetable garden, including a shaded walk with views to Siena. The swimming pool is in a panoramic position in the garden, also with fabulous views of Siena. The pool is equipped with deckchairs and lounges.

The village of Costafabbri is a five minute drive from the villa and provides the nearest location to shop for food items. Twice a week a van stops in front of the kitchen door to deliver fresh bread, milk and pasta. Buses leave for Siena from a stop close to the villa. The well-known castle of Belcaro is also nearby.

The villa is equipped with central heating, telephone, fax machine, TV, CD/Stereo, DVD player, dishwasher, freezer, microwave, American coffeemaker, toaster, hairdryer, washing machine, baby cot and safe. Maid service is included in the rental price, and a cook can prepare dinner during the week for an extra charge.
